OPERA CONCERT - 4 FEBRUARY, MAZARRON

THE "OPERA THREE PENNY" OPENS A CYCLE OF CONCERTS IN ASSOCIATION WITH "MAESTRO EUGENIO CALDERON"

The sports hall of IES Felipe II hosts this first concert on Saturday 4th February from 8.30pm.

This musical tale is based on the work of the same title by Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, to the tune of "Suite para Orquesta de Viento" of the latter and text adapted by Fernando Palacios.

This is the first concert of a cycle that, under the theme "Family Concert: Musical Tales for all ages", the Musical Association "Maestro Eugenio Calderon" has organized for this year. The works in the cycle are "The Threepenny Opera," "Peer Gynt" and "Around the World in 80 Days". All of these are popularly known and beautiful compositions.

The goal is to bring music to young people and allow the entire family to enjoy live music concerts. The Association has assistance from the City of Mazarron and schools in the municipality.

The ensemble will consist of musicians from the Music Association "Maestro Eugenio Calderon", with the collaboration of piano, guitar and banjo-directed by Alejandro Castañeda Martínez. The narrator, Juan Pedro Navarro Martinez, belongs to the theatre group IES "Domingo Valdivieso" of Mazarron, while John A. Garcia Ortiz will interpret the "Balada de Macki-knife", the most popular piece of this work.
