Mazarrón FC report: Mazarron 1 Pozo Estrecho 3

Under their new coach Mazarron flattered to deceive on Sunday against Pozo Estrecho but, in fairness to them, the game did in fact hinge on a series of questionable refereeing decisions either side of half time.
Mazarron started with an attacking formation and passed the ball around with ease early on and could well have scored several times in the first half. They had to settle however for one goal which came when a brilliant through ball from Joseda was collected by young Diego who easily rounded the keeper and put the ball into the net for his fifth goal of the season.
Several more chances came and went until just before the interval when the ball was driven against Rollon from about a yard away and the referee decided to award a penalty for handball which was converted to leave the scores level at half time.
In the 50th minute a free for all in the penalty area should have seen Mazarron awarded a penalty but this was not the case whereas shortly afterwards the referee decided to award another penalty to Pozo Estrecho for a foul by Pollo which started outside the area, the visiting player falling into the box. Again the spot kick was easily converted to make the score 1-2.
Mazarron brought on young forwards Dani and Habib and continued to press for an equalizer but this was not forthcoming and they began to tire. Perhaps the new training regime might eventually improve their fitness. Unfortunately, to give the game a false score line towards the end of the game, two Mazarron defenders allowed the ball to escape from their control and the third goal resulted from this.
Team: Ruben, Pollo, Diego, Rollon (Habib), Matt, Diego,(Jr.) Alfonso (Alcaraz), Pescau, Joseda, Chico (Dani), Edin.
Man of the match: Diego
