MOUNTAIN BIKE RACE - 3 AND 4 MARCH

THE FOURTH NATIONAL MOUNTAIN BIKE "COAST OF MAZARRÓN" TO ATTRACT 2000 CYCLISTS FROM THE MUNICIPALITY




The "Cycling Club Mazarron" is preparing a great sports weekend for 3 and 4 March with the celebration of the Fourth National Mountain Bike "Mazarrón Coast", in which there are about 2000 registered cyclists. This was announced by Enrique Belchí, who was accompanied by the Mayor of Mazarron, Ginés Campillo, and the Councillor for Sport of the consistory, Andrew James.



The ride, with a distance of 55 kilometers, will be very similar to the previous events and will take in the Calas de Bolnuevo, la Sierra de Las Herrerias and el Alto de Los Cartuchos, with the race starting in Mazarron on the morning of Sunday, March 4. The previous day a 10-kilometer time trial is to be held in the area of Los Rincones departing from the fairgrounds.



In addition, the Fairgrounds host a market of cycling equipment which will be attended by exhibitors and speciality stores throughout the Region. It is the first time this market has been organized and will be a place where athletes can sell or exchange used goods.The price for participation is 25 euros for federation members and 30 euros for other participants, being able to register through the website www.4marchamtbmazarron.es.tl



The first 2000 enrolled will be presented with a commemorative jersey edited to celebrate the 440 anniversary of independence of the municipality, while all participants will receive a gift bag with gift as well as Sunday lunch which is included in the price . The 3 first three finishers in each category will also receive a special commemorative jersey.



The Mayor of Mazarron, Ginés Campillo, congratulated the club for this initiative and thanked them saying

“ It's a great idea to have two planned days of this event so that people will stay and get to know us, and eat and sleep in the municipality. " Cyclists will not only be from Mazarron and the region but also from Catalonia, Andalusia, Valencia, Castilla La Mancha and even the Canary Islands.



This event has the support of the City of Mazarron and Red Cross, Local Police, Civil Protection and Emergency Municipal Services (EMS).
