ACTIVITIES FOR 27 MARCH, PUERTO DE MAZARRÓN

Sunday March 27, Mazarron holds its First Skate Day. An event organized by the Association "Mazarrón Patina" in collaboration with the Department of Sports, with which its aim is to promote a sport that has many followers in Mazarrón. In addition to local skaters there will be many coming from different parts of the Region and the Community of Madrid, the latter have scheduled an exhibition.



The event will start at 10:30am on the Paseo Rihuete and will develop at different points up to Bolnuevo. About 11:00am there will be fun and games on the promenade of Playa Grande and at 12:45pm is an acrobatic show on the Plaza de las Comunidades Autónomas of the Paseo Maritimo in the Port  .

MUSICAL CONCERT - CEHEGÍN 21 MARCH


SAN JOSÉ FESTIVAL - PROGRAMME

The programming of the festival of San Jose will have its main event on Saturday March 19, the day on which up to seven events take place and culminates with the concert of "Conecta2" in the Plaza of the Autonomous Communities and the release of 1,200 Chinese solidarity lanterns to benefit Caritas and the young  girl Paula Valdivia.

The start of the concert is scheduled at 9.30pm and the launch of lanterns will be around 10.30pm. After midnight there will be a fireworks display. 

Earlier in the morning, a Zumba master class benefits the Spanish Association Against Cancer and at 12:00pm, the Mass of San José takes place with the subsequent performance of Curro Piñana. 

Later there will be the traditional procession with the image of the Patron of Puerto de Mazarrón. In the afternoon, at 4pm at the beach of Puerto de Mazarrón, a Bubble Football championship will be held.

San José fiestas events and shows have been organised for all audiences and have been taking place since 13 March, as detailed by Councillor for Celebration, Patricio Sánchez, including 2 x 1 fair, childrens shows, cultural routes,  a meal for Pensioners and other sporting events such as a tennis tournament taking place between 18, 19 and 20 March.


On Sunday March 20, at 4.30pm, the Asociación de Comerciantes de Mazarrón y Comarca (ACOMA), have organised a fashion show to benefit the Red Cross and at 6pm the draw for Ruta Aperitivo will be held.

EXHIBITION OPENS IN MAZARRÓN - "INVENTIONS" OF MAZARRÓN


El Centro de Estudios Históricos Fray Pascual Salmerón and the City of Mazarrón have worked together to present the exhibition in the town "Ingenio and Technology in the Region of Murcia 1878-1966 - Discovering the inventors of Mazarrón". The exhibition will be inaugurated on Thursday March 10 at 8.30pm at the Cultural Centre of Mazarrón where it will be on display until April 10, as announced by the Councillor for Culture, Pedro Martinez.

The exhibition includes seven Mazarron inventions, most of them related to mining activity as well as other inventions and the exhibition is aimed at the educational community, especially the Departments of History and Technology including Chemistry.

The inventors of Mazarron referred to are: Antonio Yepes, Maximiliano Neto, Alejandro Hostench, Luis Llorente, José Garrido, José Miras y José Abril.


The project "Ingenio and Technology in the Region of Murcia" first exhibited in Cieza in 2013 and intends eventually to extend to all Municipalities

PAINTING EXHIBITION - MAZARRÓN

Murcia artist Tina Gonzalez exposes "Constellations" in the Town Hall. The painting exhibition will be inaugurated on Friday, March 11, at 8.30pm and will be on display until April 2nd. Mazarrónera Gonzalez brings a pictorial series focusing on interpretation of the stars, nebulae and galactic clusters.


The exhibition will run from Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 20:00 and Saturday from 10:00 to 14:00. On 19 March (San José), March 24 (Holy Thursday) and March 25 (Friday) the room is open in the morning only.

TAPAS ROUTE - PUERTO DE MAZARRÓN

Celebrations Councilman of the City of Mazarrón, Patricio Sánchez, presented on Monday the Tapas Route organized on the occasion of the Feast of San Jose de Puerto de Mazarrón. A total of 28 establishments will offer their best customers a drink for a price of two euros and a tapa. The activity is sponsored by Estrella de Levante and has the support of Eurocash El Puerto. Patricio Sanchez noted that Ruta del Aperitivo "is intended to motivate Mazarron and visitors to enjoy our gastronomy". Therefore Sanchez thanked the participating establishments that have joined.
At each location there will be available a passport that the customer will fill with stamps of different establishments visited, where you can also vote for the tapas you like best. The most voted by customers will receive recognition by the Municipality. In addition, customers who complete a minimum of ten stamps entered will enter a prize draw. The draw will be held on Sunday March 20. Passports must be delivered to the Tourist Office before 18:00 pm on Sunday, March 20. Those who complete all the passport will enter the draw to win a night in a hotel with spa and two vouchers worth 150 euros to spend at Eurocash El Puerto.

"BUBBLE FOOTBALL" - 19 MARCH, PUERTO DE MAZARRÓN

The Department of Sports Mazarrón announces that on Saturday March 19, 2016, day of San Jose in Playa del Paseo de Puerto de Mazarrón will be held a Bubble Football Championship from 4pm
Registration: € 25 per team

There will be a maximum of 8 teams.

READING ACTIVITY FOR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN DURING MARCH


The Department of Libraries of the City of Mazarrón has scheduled for March the activity "Tales with grandparents", an initiative that aims to promote reading connecting different generations, so that the youngest of libraries users can listen to great stories read by their grandparents.


The activity takes place thanks to the collaboration of the Centros de Día de Personas Mayores de Mazarrón and Puerto de Mazarrón and takes place every Tuesday in the library of Mazarrón and every Thursday in the library of the Port, from 17:30 hours.

PAINTING EXHIBITION UNTIL 6 APRIL

The Mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jimenez and the General Director of Cultural Heritage, Maria Comas, attended the opening on Thursday in Murcia of the joint exhibition of Mazarron authors Juan Francisco Belmar and Mariana Sanchez titled "Invisibles”. Alicia Jimenez, welcomed the fact that two local artists are exhibiting in Murcia

The exhibition, which is located on the ground floor of the Archivo General de la Región consists of 16 thematic blocks, each formed by a photograph and a painting. 32 works of their authors try to make a wakeup call to those people who find their way in the streets and in most cases pass by "invisible". The exhibition denounces social exclusion and with it both Sanchez and Belmar seek to sensitise the visitor.


After a long journey that has travelled through many Municipalities in Madrid, Aguilas and Lorca, the exhibition "Invisibles" reaches the Archivo General, located on Avenida de los Pinos in the capital of the Region where it will remain open until April 6.
