On a bitterly cold Sunday afternoon Mazarron, despite having a seemingly good team on paper, once again could not deliver the goods and failed to score for the third consecutive match.
Muleno took the lead straight from the kick off when Pollo made a block tackle with a Muleno player mid way in the Mazarron half and, helped by the strong wind, the ball sailed over an out of position Ruben and into the net.
Mazarron`s best chance of the whole game came in the 10th minute when a cracking move saw Diego run onto a through ball and fire a cracking drive just wide. Perhaps he should be played at centre forward instead of centre half! Shortly afterwards, a cross from the right was smashed into the roof of the net, again by Diego, but the goal was ruled out for offside.
In the 12th minute Ruben was again caught out of position for a through ball but he managed to save the effort and keep the scoreline respectable.
There was no further scoring in the first half and Mazarron made two changes at the interval with Edin and Joseda coming on. Unfortunately Edin still doesn´t seem to have learned about dissent and his first major contribution was to get booked after 55 minutes.
Mazarron then had two chances to equalize. Firstly a shot from Edin went over the bar and a good break by Matt Clarke down the left saw the ball eventually cleared by the Muleño keeper.
This was the end of the Mazarron resistance however as in the 75th minute, ex Mazarron favourite, Viti Gomez ran onto a brilliant through ball and placed the ball past the despairing dive of Ruben. Shortly afterwards Muleno scored their third goal which was the best of the game when the ball was rifled into the top corner of the net from 25 yards.
Mazarron came close when a shot from Joseda went over the bar but there was to be no further scoring and the final score remained at 0 – 3.
