LA CAÑADICA TAKES THE FIRST PRIZE OF THE CARNIVAL PARADE

The burning of Don Carnal put an end to last weekends festival marked by fun

The Cultural Association "La Cañadica" won first prize in the Carnival parade in Mazarron, worth 1,200 euros, dazzling  the jury with a fantasy and staging that emulated a peacock garden. Equestrian Association "El Mazarronero" won second prize of 900 euros, for their  show horse dancing, while the troupe "Sal Salah" got the third prize in the parade with an amount of 600 euros.

All clubs and parades were acknowledged because each contributed their bit to celebrate a spectacular parade that has been, without doubt, the best of the Carnival. Thus, during the parade, the trophy was awarded to the most spectacular rock "Caño del Molino" and  to"Percheles Beaches” for the whole troupe.

The rock group"Salitre" took the trophy for  elegance, while the award for best choreography went to the group "Fitness Dance". The Day Centre Mazarrón won the trophy for the most lively of the carnival and, finally, the prize for the most original group went to ADEMUR-GAMA.  All sets displayed their art during the parade and they had a great time at a climatically very pleasant afternoon.

In regard to the Children's Carnival Parade, the first prize of 650 euros went to the dance school "Antonio Jara". The runner up, who received a prize of 500 euros, in the children´s category was "Los Valientes". The podium was closed after AMPA Ginés García took the third prize of 450 euros. Dozens of children filled with joy and color paraded Mazarrón  with originality and charm.

There was also recognition for the best costume and best carnival night's Masquerade Ball. The prize for best costume was 100 euros awarded to Ricardo Diz for his Super SpongeBob costume, and the best parade, which took the same amount of finance, went to the set "Spana" which satirized the situation of the airline "Spanair". The night of the awards and Carnival 2012 ended with fireworks and the burning of Don Carnal in the Town Hall.
