INTERNATIONAL RACE FOR LIFE

Bolnuevo again hosts on August 13 the International Night Race "For Life" for the 18th time. The Mayor of the municipality, Ginés Campillo, and the organizer, Casiano Navarro, presented this sporting event accompanied by the councilman of Sports and Youth, Andrew James.

This important athletic event has two main objectives. On one hand it seeks to promote the popular sport, and the other to combat the drug world. This is a unique test in Spain, with the participation of 3 Spanish champions in the sport

There are 2 categories – male and female. The male athletes are subdivided into seniors, junior-youth, cadets, infants, juvenile, and youngest veterans "A", "B", "C" and "D". In the females, referred to the sub-promise senior, junior, youth, cadet, infants, juvenile, and youngest veterans "A" and "B". The distance travelled depends on the category but is between 2 and 8 miles.

Casiano Navarro thanked the Town Council of Mazarrón for their collaboration and high level of involvement in this sporting event and expressed satisfaction that "the Mayor is a sporty person, as you will know supporting and endorsing this event as it deserves." Navarro also recalled another first mayor, Pedro Muñoz, who she said "well supported and attended this test during their early days."

Meanwhile, Ginés Campillo re-iterated again the support that´s given by the organisers, "All against the Drug" and the work it does to “promote in the young, values and responsibility”.
