The Hotel "La Cumbre"
Puerto de Mazarrón is hosting this Friday, June 28, from 21:30pm, the
celebration of the XII edition of the Sports Gala organized by the Department
of Sports City of Mazarrón and the group communication "La Voz de Mazarrón".
Andres Valera, Mayor of Sports, and Antonio Balanza, Director of that group, will
recognize the top athletes who have excelled in Mazarrón during the last sports
period. But also in this issue, "there will be a recognition for all
sports clubs in the municipality for the excellent work being done in promoting
and supporting sports in Mazarrón" revealed Andres Valera.
Mazarrón Town Council are delivering nine awards this year. These are for Best Local Male Athlete, Best Female Local Athlete, Best Sports Club 2012-2013, Best Sports Equipment 2012-2013, Best Promise to Dedication to Sport 2012-2013, the Legend of Sport Mazarrón, Best Event 2012-2013 and finally Best Anniversary Team.
For his part, Antonio Balanza stated that "the media group I represent and two of the regular contributors such “Agroquímicos Los Cazadores and Cafetería Portobello”, are delivering the 3 prizes for La Elegancia, a La Regularidad and La Solidaridad en el Deporte ". In addition, the Director of "La Voz de Mazarrón" hinted that there will be some pleasant surprises during the gala.
Andres Valera also explained that "we have decided to change the location of the gala and after the awards ceremony a small cocktail will be offered to all athletes and their families who with this small gesture we thank for the important work they have done in representing Mazarrón for sport, because without their help many of our young people and athletes will have had many problems. They are also part of the success of sport in Mazarrón ".
The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, has invited all citizens of Mazarrón to "attend this festival of sport which reward values of effort, perseverance and overcoming. Values that must be present in all of us, and is also an example to support our athletes getting many successes and who are proudly carrying the name of Mazarrón to every corner. "
