MAZARRÓN EXHIBITION UNTIL JUNE 21st

The auditorium of the Universidad Popular de Mazarrón hosts until Friday, June 21 a fascinating exhibition entitled "Mazarrón'13" in which the exhibitors are 33 artists from Mazarrón. 60 paintings and 6 sculptures make up this exhibition and can be visited from Monday to Friday from 10am-2pm and from 6pm-10pm at the UPM on Avda Constitucion, Mazarrón. The inauguration was led by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, and the Director of the UPM, José María López, accompanied by the artists themselves, their friends and family as well as several members of the government team.

José María López recalled that "
la Universidad Popular conducted a similar initiative in 1985, although at that time it was much more difficult to undertake due to lack of infrastructure." Since then, "Mazarrón went on to have a consolidated programme thanks to that exhibition called Mazarrón '85". Lopez explained that the purpose of the exhibition is similar to that of 28 years ago, "to make known all that is being done in Mazarrón within this field of art."

The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, was excited about "a magnificent exhibition in Mazarrón that no citizen should miss." Moreover, the number of artists exhibiting in the current year has doubled since ´85, which as the Mayor says "is cause for rejoicing that over time the number of artists in Mazarrón increases, and there are sure to be many more that deserve to be here." Campillo said that "right now the City is in very good cultural health” and thanked and congratulated all the artists.
