On Saturday June 29, the association
"Alcedo" with the collaboration of the Department of Environment of
the City of Mazarrón, have organized a trip to the Environmental Education
Center of Caja de Ahorros del Mediterráneo (CEMACAM) located in Torreguil (Sangonera
La Verde), which is going to make a "Workshop on the traditional uses of
plants in the home setting," also revealing its cosmetic properties as an
alternative to conventional modern industrially processed products.
Also within this activity, it will offer a walk around the Centre where members of "Alcedo" unveil the different species of flora from the Sierra de Carrascoy. To participate in the activity prior registration is necessary at a price of 10€ per person. The price includes bus transportation to the Centre, workshops and lunch to be shared among participants.
The bus will make pick ups from several points for the convenience of participants. Thus, in Puerto de Mazarrón the bus will leave at 08:00 am at the shopping area adjacent to the school "Miguel Delibes". In Mazarrón, the bus will be ready at 08:15 hours at the bus stop next to the gas station on Avda Constitucion. Finally, in Camposol the bus will depart at 08:30 am from the shopping centre car park on sector B.

As explained by the Mayor of the Environment, David Fernandez, "this is an activity aimed at all audiences, so we encourage all citizens to participate and have a pleasant, educational and fun Saturday morning.
Within this initiative, the programme is called "Mazarrón en Verde" and it is designed on the occasion of "World Environment Day" by the Consistory and involves ANSE, Ecologistas en Acción, Alcedo, Club de Senderismo “Amigos de la Naturaleza”, Reforestadores Mazarrón, Club de Pesca Puerto de Mazarrón, Anjupesca, Geomaza, Buceo Hispania and Camposol “Green Fingers”.
