On
the occasion of the pilgrimage of the Miracle, the Mazarrón Town Council will
conduct a series of visits to the Torre de los Caballos de Bolnuevo museum with information about the watchtowers
and the history of the Miracle. The proposal consists of a theatrical tour and
a participatory activity. During the visit, a character belonging to the
historical moment in which the miracle took place will explain the function of
the Torre de los Caballos de Bolnuevo in the coastal defense of
Mazarrón and miraculous event that happened on November 17, 1585.
To promote public interactivity, encouraging the participation of all the family and increasing the educational factor and activity fun for all participants, the tour will end with the activity “Academia de Vigías" in which visitors have to implement the knowledge acquired to get a certificate. The visit, lasting approximately one hour, is free and will be held on Saturday 10 and Saturday 17 November at 11am and 5pm.
Entries must be formalized through the Office of Information and Tourism of Mazarrón Town Hall, located in the Plaza Toneleros in the Port, with a maximum of 25 people per visit. The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, stressed that "visitors can learn the history and traditions of Mazarrón in an attractive way with these theatrical visits, with which we wished to raise the festival's Miracle this year whilst celebrating the “440 Aniversario de la Concesión del Privilegio de Villa”.
