THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION IN SPAIN MOJACAR BRANCH

THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION IN SPAIN Mojacar Branch is proud to announce they have been awarded the honour of having their Standard included in the Muster at The Royal Albert Hall in London for this year’s Annual  Festival of Remembrance.

It is the first time Mojacar Branch has been chosen to attend this very important Ceremony and Mick Coote,  the Branch Standard Bearer,  will be taking the Standard to the UK for the 10th November.   This does mean that the Remembrance Service at San Pasqual Church on the 11th November will be without both the Standard and its Bearer present. However appreciating the wonderful opportunity to participate in the Festival it was deemed without question they should both go.

M ick will be required for rehearsals at 07,45 am on the Saturday morning so an early start is on the agenda for him before the afternoon and evening performances.     Mick served for 22 years in the Royal Air Force and before coming to live in Spain with his wife of 29 years he was actively involved as a Branch Chairman for his local Royal British Legion..    Mick will be accompanied by his wife Christine and they are both wished an exceptionally enjoyable and memorable weekend     You can guarantee fellow Members will be avidly glued to their TV sets hoping to get a glance of ‘Our Man’ in the Muster at the Festival, going down ‘that’ staircase.    This honour has made it an extra special year for the Mojacar Branch during its Poppy Appeal period and when the momentous  falling of the poppies are released . We Shall Remember Them
