MAZARRÓN SUMMER MARKET - UNTIL 31 AUGUST

El paseo Augustine Herrerín, linking the beaches of La Isla and La Ermita, hosts until August 31 a craft market, launched under the name “Mercadillo Marinero de Bahía”. The inauguration, which took place on 6 July, was given by the Deputy Mayor for Urban Development, Francisco Garcia, and Councillors of Celebration and Rural Development, Isidro Coy and Magdalena Mendez. This inauguration was a show in which several dancers animated the night with their dances to Arabic music.

Tourists and residents gathered around the group to enjoy the show, while some of them took advantage of the opportunity to visit the different stalls selling various handicrafts such as gifts and jewellery, clothing and accessories, and sweets amongst others. More than two dozen booths were set up by the City and can be visisted from dusk to midnight until August 31.

The Councillor of Celebration, Isidro Coy, said: "This summer, as last year, we have arranged to have two summer markets. In addition to this on the beach in La Ermita, in the coming days will also launch one on the Avda Costa Calida. " The Councillor stressed that "tourists demand this type of initiative, not only because it is a commercial activity but also has a cultural perspective, with which encourages summer nights".

The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, commented that "we have continued with the quality line launched last year, setting up sleek and well maintained booths". The Mayor also wanted to point out that "with our commitment to achieve excellence in tourism, issues like this should be taken into account and so should be retained in future years to promote a good brand image of Mazarrón, something that with effort and hard work we are receiving. "
