MAZARRÓN CARNIVAL - 13 JULY

The Department of Celebration of the City of Mazarrón has everything planned to celebrate the Summer Carnival Parade this Saturday August 13th, which for the first time, is celebrated in the town as an added tourist incentive of leisure activities scheduled from the Consistory. 18 troupes, both local and foreign, will participate in the parade which will depart at 19:30 from Rihuete area walking the street of the same name, then to la calle Viriato, paseo marítimo Francisco Martínez  Muñoz, la plaza de las Comunidades Autónomas, plaza del Muelle and paseo de La Sal. At the end there will be a mobile disco to continue the party.

This was announced by the Councillor of Celebration, Isidro Coy, who was very satisfied that " new troupes are coming from locations as far away as Yecla, which is welcome, while other participating clubs are repeating their involvement, as last February in the Mazarrón parade. " The local participants, and their order of participation are
Murcia Dance, la escuela de baile “Antonio Jara”, la peña “El Salitre”, Fitness Dance, peña “La Cañadica”,  “Salsalá” and peña “Playas de Percheles”.

In regard to the participants from outside the area, the carnival parade will feature
“Faisán” from Sangonera La Verde, “Musas Caliroe” also from Sangonera La Verde, comparsa “Buen Rollito” Nerón Gym of Llano de Brujas, “Que vale vale” también from Llano de Brujas, comparsa “Samaná” from Mula, “Nuevo Encanto” also from Mula, comparsa “Antares” of Cartagena, comparsa “Las Divinas” of Mula, “El Destello” of Yecla and comparsa “Cuidado que llegamos” of Yecla. The parade will be closed by the Riding Association "El Mazarronero" .

Celebrations Councillor recalled that "four awards are provided for both local and foreign groups". So, there will be a first prize of 1,200€ in cash for the best parade troupe, while the second best will receive 900€. The third prize is 600€ and eventually there will be fourth prize of 300€. The Councillor stressed "the great interest that is awakening Mazarrón Carnival and in particular, this parade will stand out for its beauty travelling much of our coast without losing sight of the sea."
