The Department of Sports of Mazarrón City and hiking club “Amigos de la Naturaleza” are re-holstering their hiking boots in the month of May with a new route that, this time, has been organized to explore the area of the Luchena river and Valdeinfierno marshland. The event will take place on Saturday May 25 and the registration period closes on Tuesday, May 21, because you have to hire the services of a bus.
This visit has a medium-high difficulty with a total length of 16 kilometers, so it is advisable for hikers who are already somewhat experienced. The departure is scheduled for 8 am on the Saturday 25 and it is advisable to bring lunch and water for the activity. The price for federated walkers is 7 euros and 10 euros for non-federated, with compulsory insurance cover plus the bus. For registration and more information you can call 968 59 18 52 and 680 53 15 29.
In addition, the municipality of Mazarrón not only organizes activities for citizens of the municipality to start in this sport of hiking, but also is working with other town councils in the region to visit the town where walkers arrive from other municipalities. This is the case of the route in late April - a large group of people came from the towns of Calasparra and Campos del Río.
In all, about 70 hikers walked the creeks and paths from Calnegre to Bolnuevo. All were amazed by the breathtaking views, made more spectacular with the good weather that accompanied the day. After eating, the walkers visited the Archaeological Museum “Factoría Romana de Salazones” where a guide delighted them with his talk concerning this place. Councillor for Culture of the City of Calasparra, Cristina Trujillo, participated in this route and visit and thanked both the municipality of Mazarrón and the hiking club for the good organization, being summoned to take another route for their municipality.
