THEATRE PROGRAMME - 12 - 26 JUNE

The Secondary School "Antonio Hellin" in Puerto de Mazarrón has launched, starting next Wednesday, June 12th, the second edition of its theatre festival. A cultural event that began with great success last year and with the collaboration and support of the City of Mazarrón. The programme was presented on 5 June by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, the Director of that school, Carlos Corvalan, and the organizers of this theatrical event, Mari Carmen Marin and Elizabeth M. Ballesta.

As Marin and Ballesta explained, "This year we have grown from last year, as more works will be interpreted and involve more schools and theatre groups than last year." The performances, a total of 10, can be enjoyed from 9.30pm in the central courtyard of the school and are free, "they will begin on Wednesday, June 12 and run until Wednesday 26, and include works for all ages and all audiences. "

For his part, the Director of the Institute "Antonio Hellin" expressed "gratitude to the City of Mazarrón and the central departments who have superbly co-ordinated to launch the second edition." The C.E.I.P. "Miguel Delibes" will open this year's edition on Wednesday, 12 with the play “Los cuentos de la Luna”.

The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, stressed that "Mazarron is experiencing a flourishing of culture and this festival of theatre-art form that has always had a great tradition in the city-is a good example of that." The Mayor, invited citizens "to share in this cultural re-emergence which students are actively participating in from institutes and schools with different cultural activities".
