Until March 23
you can visit in the basement of the Town Hall of Mazarrón
the exhibition "Plancenta"
by Mazarrón artist Emilio Cerezo. This
consists of a total of 13 pictures
in which we can see animals and
people on a black background and based on
a prominent influence of painters like Lucian Freud
and Francis Bacon. The opening hours of the Town Hall are Monday to Saturday from 10am-2pm, and Thursday and
Friday evenings from 5pm-8pm,
staying closed on
March 19.
The exhibition was opened on Friday 22 February by the Councillor for Culture, Maria Celeste Soria, and the artist who were also accompanied by the Mayor of Rural Development, Magdalena Mendez, as well as friends and family of the young artist. He stressed that his paintings "have a dark background, giving them a dense atmosphere.”
Emilio Cerezo also said the idea that he tries to convey through these paintings "is that each figure is engrossed in a holder, isolated from the rest". The Councillor for Culture encouraged citizens to visit the exhibition and said that "although some of the works are of small size, they have much to say".
