The Department for Equality of Mazarrón Town Council for the
second year holds the photo contest "Dia de la Mujer". The contest is
open to all amateur photographers residing in the municipality of Mazarrón, who
may submit up to 3 works oriented to the subject of women.
Copy formats will be accepted, 15 x 20 cm and up to 30 x 40 cm, and must be mounted on a rigid support in colour or black and white. The printed copies should be submitted and accompanied by a digital file on CD. To preserve anonymity and impartiality of the jury, the works should be presented in a sealed envelope with a pseudonym and title of the photograph, which also must be written on the CD.
Together with the above, should be a second envelope containing the title of the work, pseudonym of author, name and surname, ID number and phone number. The deadline for submission of papers will be held on March 7, 2012. These should be sent to Concejalía de Igualdad, la calle Fernández Caballero, edificio Montesinos 1º E, 30870 Mazarrón (Murcia).

The finalists will be seen in an exhibition that will open on March 8 in the Town Hall. The reporting of results to the prize winners and the awards ceremony will be held on March 10 during the award ceremony of the “Mujer Mazarronera 2013”.
3 Awards have been established for this event. The first prize is sponsored by “López Fotógrafos”., second by “Tere Foto” and third by “Fotos Philippe”. Councillor for Equality, Maria Martinez, thanked "enormously the participation of these three establishments selflessly giving these awards."
The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, explained that "the aim of this competition is to promote and raise public awareness on the importance of equal opportunities between men and women" , so asked for entries from men and women.
