Mazarrón FC report: Mazarron FC 0 SC Aguileno 1
In an interesting and exciting game Mazarron were unfortunate to lose to a hotly disputed goal in the 93rd minute when following a spell of Mazarron pressure, Jose David the Aguileño centre forward ran onto a through ball and scored. Some people, including unfortunately the linesman, thought he started his run in his own half but there were many present who disputed this including the whole of the Mazarron team and the coach.
Mazarron again started the game playing good constructive football and could have scored as early as the 4th minute when Guillermo played the ball through only for the keeper to come out of the ensuing dust storm with the ball!
Both sides had many chances in the first half and Ruben was called on to make a good save when the ball was volleyed in from a comer. Edin had several chances and a shot from Jose Da from 30 yards went narrowly wide
The second half continued in the same manner and Ruben again had to make a good save when Diego misjudged a ball and once again, in the sand storm which followed, the ball was eventually cleared to safety by Diego.
As the game approached stoppage time, the Aguileño left back was sent off for a second bookable offence and this sparked a long spell of Mazarron pressure which, eventually brought about their downfall when Rollon thundered the ball against the cross bar only to see it cleared. From the clearance Jose David beat the defence and ran through to score from what was, to most spectators, an offside position.
Despite playing well, Mazarron again suffered from the inability to convert any of their many chances into goals, and the youngsters again seemed to tire which was not surprising considering they had played the previous day for the successful juvenile team.
Team: Ruben, Ahmed, Diego, Alfonso, Matt Clarke, Chico (Dani), Guillermo, Jose Da (Jaguar), Jose, Pescau, Edin (Rollon).
