PIGEON RACING EVENT - MARCH 2014

During this week , Mazarrón is getting ready to race pigeons at the XXIV Campeonato de España de Palomos de Raza to be held in the town until Sunday 16 March. The presentation of the event was made by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo , National Delegate of Raza de la Real Federación Española de Colombicultura (RFEC), Bernardino Crespo, the Presidente de la Federación Murciana de Colombicultura(FMC), Antonio Serna, and the Presidente del Club de Palomos de Raza ‘Playas de Mazarrón’, Alberto López.

The latter explained that "until March 8 we will receive the pigeons in the store that the Company ' Pataleta ' has given us on the road between Mazarrón and Puerto ." The Club President also thanked  " the Spanish and Murcia Federations for placing their trust in us to organize the event, as well as the support given to us at all times by the City."

Bernardino Crespo announced that " this event will open to the public on 12 to 15 March (10-2pm and 5-8pm) , with the opening of the exhibition on Friday 14 March at 7pm . A day later, the awards and closing ceremony of the championship will be held. " The RFEC National Delegate explained that "we know that Mazarrón is a great place to hold this event as it has a great tradition in this sport,  but it also has the excellent weather "

 Crespo announced " our confidence in the club 'Playas de Mazarrón ' to bring this event with support from the Council and FMC ." Meanwhile, Antonio Serna expressed his " joy because this event is held in our Region and more specifically in Mazarrón , where I have vacationed since childhood ." The President of the FMC hoped that " fans enjoy these days of passion we have for the pigeons ."

The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo , said that "we are pleased that a Club of the Municipality has the capacity to organize a tournament of this magnitude , demonstrating that there are people in Mazarrón doing very well and that is to be congratulated . " The Mayor thanked the two federations for their  " full support and cooperation as this appointment is another very positive development for our Town , with the arrival in Mazarrón of  a large number of people from all over Spain ."
