This Friday, January 17th the feast of San Anton is
celebrated and, as is traditional, the shrine of the saint, located in the
garden Pepa 'La Galla' district of San Isidro de Puerto de Mazarrón, host, once
again, the popular blessing of animals at the doors of that temple.
The event will begin at 5pm when the Parish Priest of San
Jose, Justo José Sánchez, leads the faithful few words to explain the meaning
of this celebration. Then the priest will bless the animals with holy water to
keep them safe from disease for the rest
of the year.
In addition, the women of Asociación
de vecinos del Barrio de San Isidro are already preparing traditional
donuts of the saint which will also be blessed during the ceremony and then distributed free of charge to the audience,
so that they will have good health this
year.
