The British Racing brothers from Murcia
will be in action at the second round of the Spanish Supermoto championship
held at Villena, near Sax, Alicante on Sunday 14th April. Both Mat
and Anthony Ford-Dunn managed podium positions at last year’s race, held on the
spectacular Chicharra kart circuit at Villena. 2012 saw a massive crowd come to
watch the frantic race action as Spain’s best supermoto racers tackled the fast
and flowing Kart track before jumping into the high speed dirt section where
passes and crashes were a constant feature in all of the day’s races.
Both Mat and Anthony Hope to repeat their
performances from last year, with Mat racing in the SM Master 35 class and
Anthony currently undecided on whether to compete in the elite class or the SM
road category. Both brothers race for
the Murcia based Supermotoland team that is sponsored by ‘Advance Moves
International Removals’ and ‘Stratton Motorsports’ who will be present in the
race paddock.
Qualifying practice takes place on Saturday
13th April, with the first of 9 races starting at 10.00 o’clock on
Sunday 14th April and the podium celebrations ending the days racing
at 3.00 pm. Anyone wishing to attend will be treated to a spectacular days
racing, with an admission fee of 2 euro’s that includes a free drink from the
bar, as well as mini golf, Kart hire (after the days racing), kids play ground
and a great restaurant and Bar, you will definitely have a fun filled day.
The chicharra Kart circuit can be found
just off the A-31 motorway north of Sax at the town of Villena. The circuit is
situated about 1 km west of Villena on the CV-81 road that heads to Yecla. The
entrance to the circuit is signposted off the
CV-81 just where a large new roundabout is being constructed, so you
cannot miss it!
Further details and race reports can be
found on the www.supermotoland.com
website and we hope to see you there on Sunday 14th April for a
great days racing!
