On 27 and 28 April the waters of the Bay of Mazarrón welcome the presence of more than 40 large sailing boats from Murcia, Andalusia and Valencia who will participate in the Third Race "Bahia de Mazarrón" organized by the municipality of Mazarrón and Mazarrón Race Club. The presentation of the test was performed by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, the president of that club, José Hernández, and Competition Director of the Games, Pedro J. Perez Castejón.

The event will involve the presence in the municipality of world champions as well as in Europe and Spain, of this sport. Participants "will take their first outing on Saturday April 27 at 12 noon, covering much of the bay from La Azohia to Cueva de Lobos" said Perez-Castejon, adding that "in total we will travel 15 miles nautical , while the duration of the test will depend on the wind ". The sailors take to the sea again the next day around 11 am and the awards ceremony is scheduled that day at 15:30.

One of the best times to see the competition is at the exit of Club de Regatas when boats, with a crew of between 2 and 10 sailors each, depart to sea on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28. Jose Hernandez has encouraged everyone  "to go and see this spectacular race to all those who want to witness it. All for free plus enjoy a BBQ on the Saturday night and a giant paella Sunday after the awards. "

The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, said that "we have decided to enter this competition firmly and decisively from the City because it is an excellent opportunity to promote the name of Mazarrón".

The Mayor and the President of Club de Regatas Mazarrón agreed that "this collaboration aims to turn this event into a symbolic test within the world of sailing in our country." Ginés Campillo said that "the test, in addition to supporting the promotion of sport should become an example of the open and participatory nature of Mazarron which is full of goodness, which will convey to more than 200 sailors who come to participate in the test ".
