This
Thursday, August 2 the festivities begin
with the procession
of San Cayetano which will depart
from the Sanctuario de La Purísima and ends in the hamlet. At 7 pm, the said
temple will host Mass in honour of the Saint, who will then be carried
on the shoulders of the neighbours.
This event has already become a popular tradition and the Mayor, Ginés Campillo,
has invited participation from citizens in the municipality.
The festivities continue on Friday
3 August when, at 10 pm, Francisco Blaya Sáez,
better known as "Titino", makes the opening speech of this year at the fairgrounds in Mazarrón
which hosts the activities. Following this there will
be held the coronation of the
Queens of Festivals and a
performance from "Duo Sabor Latino." During
the evening there will be a raffle
of gifts.
On Saturday August 4 also starting at 10 pm, it
will be the turn of Ricky "El
Andaluz Chico" who will be accompanied by his dancers. The music, seasoned
with good humour, will continue in the hands of artist Frank Cano.
That night, there will also be a large
piñata with gifts, and a “migas” contest with the Festival
Committee providing the flour
and oil.
On Sunday August 5 the festivities end this year with a contest at the scrum
pitch scheduled for 9 pm. An hour later there
will be the performance of the
Mazarroneros "Los Luisos"
, Another piñata with
gifts will put an end to the festivities of this year's Fiesta.
