Once again,
the Department of Environment of the City of Mazarrón and Club de Senderismo
Amigos de la Naturaleza celebrate World Bird Day. They will do this weekend
with a programme of events that aims to raise awareness of respect for the
natural environment and its wildlife.
On Saturday
October 3rd from 10 am until 13 pm, a stand will be installed in the weekly
market of Mazarrón displaying a sample of the most typical birds that inhabit
the South East peninsular. Younger children will be encouraged to participate
in this exhibition through different activities.
The programme
of events continues on Sunday October 4th at 10 am in the wetlands of the
rambla de las Moreras, a place of great natural value with the presence of a
large number of species, some endangered species such as white-headed ducks
that choose this natural place to breed.
The Mayor
of Mazarrón and the Councillor for the Environment encourage families to take
advantage of the weekend to perform different activities that also serves to
appreciate the rich natural heritage within our Municipality and raise awareness
of the importance of respect and conservation.
