Cañada de
Gallego celebrates its festivities in honour of San Antonio. From 5 to June 14,
the Festival Committee in collaboration with the Department of Celebrations of
the City of Mazarrón offers an extensive programme of activities starting this
Friday, June 5 with the opening of the trade fair and the performance by the
rock group "Lobesia” at 10pm. From 11.30pm, the night will continue with a
mobile disco.
On
Saturday, June 6, from 10pm there will be the performance of local dance group
"De Rosa", with the mobile disco continuing from 11.30pm.
On Sunday,
June 7, at 9am sees a petanque contest and at 2pm is paella for everyone. In
the afternoon, at 5pm there is ribbon and horse race and at 10pm a great
performance by the flamenco group "Aires del Sureste".
The
programming of the festival of Cañada de Gallego extends throughout next week.
The main event will be Saturday, June 13, day of the Patron San Antonio. At
11am is Mass and at midday the procession starts, accompanied by the Band of
Drums and Bugles.
Other
highlights include children's performances of "Cantajuegos" and
"Mago Frank", scheduled for Wednesday June 10 at 9pm and 10pm
respectively. Thursday 11 at 11pm is the Migas competition and Friday June 12,
the musical performance of "Mara Bang Band" will take place.
