SPANISH CYCLING CHAMPIONSHIPS - 5-7 SEPTEMBER

Over 700 cyclists will meet in Mazarrón from tomorrow morning to participate in the Road Cycling Championships of Spain. The competition was presented on Wednesday  at the Headquarters of the Regional Government in the presence of the Director General of Sports, Antonio Peñalver and the President of the Spanish Cycling Federation, José Luis López Cerrón.
Peñalver  highlighted the importance of the test and encouraged the people o Murcia to come to Mazarrón this weekend for  "good cycling." Meanwhile, Lopez Cerrón praised the work done by the Murcia Cycling Federation for influencing  the detail for the first time in these championships which will represent  the 17 autonomous communities.
The event was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo and the Councillor for Sports, Andres Valera. Campillo has confirmed hotels are full in Mazarrón for competition days, which comes in handy now that the Municipality is finalizing the summer campaign.

Meanwhile, José López Tortosa, President of the Cycling Federation of Murcia, confirmed the 7 task taking place. Tomorrow sees the welcome, license verification and technical panel meetings with the coaches and the organization, so that as from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 tests that make up the League of Spain can commence. On Friday, starting at 9 am, the individual time trial will take place for both male and female category. The 15 km route linking the town of Mazarrón to Majada, going through the hamlet of Leiva. On Saturday and Sunday sees the women and master 50 and 60 have a distance of 74 km, the master 40 and senior of 87 km, senior, 30 and junior of a 116 km route which will be very similar to that made in 1989 during the Championships of Spain in professional category.  Sunday September 7th will see cyclists ascending the Cedacero and La Cuesta . The control point and final of the tests will be located in the Avenida de la Constitución of Mazarrón by the service station.
