The Musical Group "Jara y Tomillo" from the Town
of Caceres Cedillo appears on Saturday in Puerto de Mazarrón in the First
Festival organized by the Councillor of Celebrations of the City of Mazarrón.
This Group from Extremadura last visited our Town on August 2nd when
participating in the Festival de Música del Emigrante.
La plaza de las Comunidades Autónomas in Puerto
host from 9pm, a festival where also the local Rondallas perform. Earlier on
Friday, 19, Mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Garcia and Councillor of Celebration,
Isidro Coy, will receive the Musical Group.
Especially rooted in Aragón, Murcia and Valencia, the music
of the street musicians originated in medieval Spain. Eventually it spread
throughout the Americas. Musical instruments generally used by its members are
mandolins, violins, guitars, flutes, cellos, basses, tambourines, castanets and
triangles.
