An extensive programme of activities will be offered during
the Autumn by the Department of Culture of the City of Mazarrón. Its Mayor,
Ginés Campillo, presented the initiative this past Thursday.
On October 2, it starts by the Storytelling Association, La Luciérnaga. On Tuesdays it will be
held at the Library of Mazarrón and Thursdays in the Library of Puerto de
Mazarrón at 17:30. They end on December 18.
Cinema is one of the great attractions of the new cultural
season. Every Friday the Cultural Centre in Mazarrón will host screenings for
children at 6pm and classic films from 9pm. The first film project will be
"The Lion King" on Oct. 3. Cinematic homage is paid to three cinema
figures recently deceased: Lauren Bacall, Robin Williams and Richard
Attenborough. "Key Largo" is
on October 17, "Patch Adams" on November 7 and "Gandhi"
will be screened on November 28. Admission is free until all seats are filled.
On October 24, the Cultural Centre of Mazarrón will also
host a literary meeting with Murcian write Jeronomo Tristante, author of
best-selling novels of detective genre as "1969" and "The
Mystery of Aranda House." The next day at the same place the Theatre
School Teyde stage “Asamblea de Mujeres”.
Craft workshops, carol contests, guides of the libraries and
reading animations complete the cultural visits scheduled by the Department
during the coming months.
