The Department of Culture of the City of Mazarrón has
announced the Contest for Love Poetry "Te Declaration", for the
second year, which this year is also open to seniors with a specific call for
them. This competition falls within the campaign to encourage reading that
promotes municipal libraries.
In the announcement to schools, this is open to all students enrolled in ESO and Baccalaureate schools in the municipality. The poems, which must be original, unpublished and not previously awarded, should be a maximum of one page on one side, preferably from a computer with Times New Roman font 12. The works, should be accompanied with information about that student to the Spanish language teachers of each school.
In regard to adults, those may participate that are registered in the municipality. They may submit a single poem, be original, unpublished and not previously awarded, nor pending in any other contest. The work, with a title should be no longer than 30 lines, and from a computer with Arial font 12. The poem should be sent, along with other personal data about the author to biblioteca@mazarron.es.
The deadline for submitting works ends on Tuesday 12 February and the jury will announce its decision on February 14, Valentine's Day. For schoolchildren, the first prize will be a mini laptop and a diploma, the second will be rewarded with an e-book and diploma, and third prize with Mp3 and diploma. For adults, the first prize is two tickets to the Teatro Romea plus a pen and diploma, the second prize will be a pen, a gift certificate for books valued at 50€ and diploma, and third prize will be a pen and diploma .
Councillor for Culture, Maria Celeste Soria, has encouraged all Mazarrón to participate because "it is an activity that last year was well received among students and hope that this year we will see the same enthusiasm ". The Councillor pointed out that "many older reading fans have asked us to also encourage this habit among adults."
