Mazarrón FC report: Olympic Totana 4 Mazarron 0

On reflection, Mazarrón could have been unlucky to be beaten by such a high score against a strong and well organized Totana side. Although they were outplayed a lot of chances came and went and defensive errors contributed to the goals conceded
The game got off to a bizarre start when in the 7th minute the referee booked Rollon just as Mazarrón were about to take a free kick. No one could work out why he had been booked and this was cleared up a couple of minutes later when the referee decided that he should have booked Alfonso and changed the bookings. This was fortunate later in the game when Rollon was booked and would have been sent off had the earlier decision not been reversed.
After 9 minutes, a speculative shot was saved by Ruben but the ball ran free to an unmarked Totana player who scored with ease
Several chances came Mazarrón´s way, Diego shot high and wide, Edin came close to scoring and Alcaraz shot onto the roof of the net. Pollo then shot narrowly wide and a long range shot from Diego also went wide.
At the start of the second half, Edin ran on to a through ball but it was deflected for a corner. He then managed to get himself booked and was sensibly substituted whilst still angrily debating the decision with the referee.
Ruben then made a succession of good saves but the flood gates eventually opened, firstly from a header which hit the post and rebounded to an unmarked player who scored.
The third goal came when a Totana player was left unmarked in the area to score with a header from a corner. Then the home side increased the lead further with a well worked goal one following a quick break on the right.
The best chance for Mazarrón came when Gines saved a shot and the ball fell loose to a Totana player.
Team: Ruben, Jose Pollo (Chema), Alcaraz, Alex, Matt Clarke, Diego (Dani), Guillermo, Rollon, Alfonso, Chico, Edin (Habib).
Man of the Match: Alcaraz
On Sunday Mazarrón are at home to Muleno, kick off 5pm. Admission is just €5.

Mazarrón FC report: Mazarron FC 0 CD Beniel 3

Despite fielding what on paper looked a stronger side, Mazarrón consolidated their position at the foot of the table with a 3 – 0 defeat at home to Beniel.
After a fairly quiet first 20 minutes, with neither side doing an awful lot, things changed when a Mazarrón throw on the half way line was for some reason or other handled by Rollon. A quickly taken free kick was put into the Mazarrón area and onwards into the net to give the visitors the lead.
Shortly after this Jose and Alfonso swapped positions but there was no noticeable difference with Beniel starting to get well on top. Despite this however, Mazarrón could have equalized twice before half time. First a shot was deflected to the keeper and then Pepe ran on to a through ball and hammered his shot straight at the keeper who punched it away. A yard either side and the whole game could have changed.
In the 56th minute Beniel doubled their lead when a free kick was headed into the net.
Shortly afterwards, following a succession of dives from the Beniel striker, Diego received his fifth yellow card of the season which will see him miss the next game. Beniel scored again to make it 3-0 and although Mazarrón had several chances to cut the deficit, nothing came from them.  The closest Mazarrón came was a 40 yard shot from Diego jnr which only just went over the bar with the keeper well beaten.
Time is running out for Mazarrón who are 10 points short of safety. Once again six regular players were missing through injury, suspension or unavailability and four members of the successful juvenile team had to be included in the starting line-up.

Team: Ruben, Jose “Pollo”, Diego, Alex (Habib), Guillermo, Pepe (Diego jnr), Rollon (jnr) (Chema), Alfonso, Chico, Pescau (Ahmed), Matt Clarke
Man of the Match: Diego Snr.

There are two free events being taught by ANSE and financed by the ESF the Social Centre of Cañada Gallego, next to the Mazarrón District Health Centre.  The course on Agricultura Limpia will be taught by the Association of Southeast naturalists (ANSE) from Thursday. It's a free activity funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) and falls within the project "farmers and biodiversity, allies by nature" of the aforementioned Association.   This is the first of two scheduled from courses from ANSE aimed at integrating biodiversity into farms in the municipality. In the first year, the Agricultura Limpia, will talk about techniques to develop making agriculture more efficient, sustainable and respectful of the environment and will feature an output practice to a farm on the morning of Saturday 14.

The second course, entitled "good practices for biodiversity in agricultural holdings" will take place from 19 to 21 January and will also include practical exercises and theory on the recuperation and conservation of wild fauna and flora. Both courses are directly related to the requirements of the common agricultural policy (Cap) 2013 and to participate in them it is essential to have been registered previously.

Mazarrón FC report: Mazarrón F C 1 - Ceuti Atletico 2

Following the mid season break hopes were high for Mazarrón but nothing changed, not even the system, where once again a lone striker was deployed and this “honour” again fell to Edin.
Very little happened in the first 10 minutes but then Diego was outpaced by the opponents centre forward who managed to toe poke the ball towards goal and Peru allowed it to creep under his body into the net to give Ceuti the lead.
8 minutes later Peru called for a ball, but then changed his mind leaving Diego no option but to head the ball out for a corner. The flag kick was flicked on to the visitor’s unmarked centre half who easily headed home.
Still without four key players through suspension, Mazarrón came back into the game and had two opportunities to reduce the arrears. Firstly, a Poyatos free kick was headed goalwards by Diego but was easily saved and secondly, from a Chico corner, the ball was hammered in by Diego jr. but this was cleared off the line.
Shortly after the start of the second half Poyatos was injured and replaced by Alex who was making a welcome first appearance of the season after a lengthy injury. Alex, playing in a midfield role, seemed to inspire the team and Mazarrón had several chances, including a spell of three successive corners.
In the 83rd minute a strong run down the left from Pescau ended with an excellent cross from which substitute Habibe scored with a glancing header. Despite more pressure in the closing minutes, Mazarrón were unable to score and lost further ground at the bottom of the league table.
Team: Peru, Alcaraz, Diego, Alfonso, Matt Clarke, Poyatos ( Alex), Chico, Chema (Habibe), Diego jnr, Pescau, Edin.
Man of the Match:  Alcaraz
