MUSICAL FAIR - MAZARRÓN 23 & 24 SEPTEMBER

After the success of last year, the Musical Association "Maestro Eugenio Calderón" re-organizes its "Musical Fair" that will take place in the Town Hall Square next Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 September.

With the idea of ​​promoting music and showing the activities that take place in the Musical Association, on Saturday, September 23 this "Musical Fair" will begin at 11am with a singing workshop. At 11:15am., the knowledge of wind and woodwind instruments will be announced. At midday a workshop will be held to build small instruments through recycled materials. Saturday's activities will end with the musical tale "In a Persian Market".

On Sunday, September 24, the same programme is repeated but dedicated to new instruments with which the Association intends to innovate in the musical education of the young: 10am, singing workshop, 10.15am, knowledge of instruments , 10:40am, instrument building workshop. At 11:15am, the "Musical Fair" will culminate with the story "Erase once the instruments" with the performance of the Band-School Association.

Music Classes for Adults and the fourth season of "Music for Babies"

In addition to the "Musical Fair", interested parties will be able to inform themselves and sign up for the music classes on Friday and Saturday in September in their headquarters, located in the Plaza del Salitre. ARTISTIC EXHIBITION - MORATALLA

The artistic project 'Mursiya. 673 de la Hégira ', from creator Gloria Lapeña, can be seen in the Sala de Exposiciones del Convento, in Moratalla. The opening will take place on Friday at 8:30 p.m. and will be open until 1 October. This exhibition is presented in the form of an illustrated album, with a simple story with a historical basis. It is a reading of the history of the city of Murcia set in its medieval stage and brings a complementary value to the artistic showing in its works the cultural heritage of the city of Murcia in the thirteenth century.

Gloria Lapeña (Murcia, 1989) has held numerous solo and group exhibitions in various Spanish and European cities. She has a BA in Fine Arts from the University of Murcia, an Extraordinary Bachelor's Degree and the First National Prize in Arts and Humanities from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports (2011-2012).

CHANGE OF DAY FOR AA MEETING IN MAZARRÓN AREA

The Mazarrón Area meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous, which have been held on Wednesdays, are moving to Thursday evenings from week commencing 4 September

LA MAJADA FIESTA - UNTIL 10 SEPTEMBER

The hamlet of La Majada celebrates in honour of La Purísima, festivities that all the public can enjoy and in which this beautiful corner of the municipality will show its hospitality to mazarroneros and visitors.

The proclamation of the festivities will take place on Thursday, September 7 by María José Costa Cifuentes, President of the Association of Rural Women of Raiguero from 10pm. On Friday, September 8, at 6pm sees mass followed by the procession with the image of the patroness of the inhabitants of this hamlet.

The closing of the parties will take place on Sunday, September 10 during a day that will begin at 10am with a concentration of classic vehicles, giant paella, different contests and an awards ceremony, completing a day that like the previous ones will be loaded of activities.

OPEN WATER SWIMMING COMPETITION 17 SEPTEMBER

There is less than a month left to enjoy a new "Desafío Seaman" in the waters of the Bay of Mazarrón.

This time it will be in Bolnuevo, where on Sunday September 17, between the coves and the main beach a new competition for swimming in open water commences, including crossings of 8kms, 4kms and 1.5kms. 

It is an event that returns after the success experienced in previous times  such as La Azohía-Puerto de Mazarrón in 2016 and La Isla during the last Fun Fest festival.

Patricio Sánchez, Councillor for Sports, presented this new sporting event with the participation of swimmers coming from different parts of Spain. María José Montesinos, President of the club organizer Master Murcia, recalled that the inscriptions can be formulated at www.crono3.es 

The competition will start at 9:00 am on the day of the test.
