The neighbours of San Isidro of Mazarrón are celebrating
their Patron Saint. Friday 8th saw the “Gran Traca” start the
festivities that gather hundreds of people every day who decide to enjoy with
family and friends the large number of scheduled activities that the Festival
Committee in collaboration with the City of Mazarrón organise.
The Mayor, Francisco Garcia, attended the Friday opening of
the festivities leading the group of officers during the parade initiated by
the Band of Drums and Bugles of the Parish of San José. Then came the tribute
to the neighbour Luisa Menchón who was chosen by the Mayor, Francisco Garcia,
for recognizing her involvement and dedication to the neighbourhood parties.
Friday night was celebrated by dancing. Saturday highlighted the traditional
masquerade and Sunday was a fashion show by the various businesses in the area.
On Monday it was the turn for the popular Migas competition once again to
generate a convivial evening. Musical performances, bingo, pet contests and
plays completed the programme of events of these past days.
Friday 15th is the day of the Patron Saint San
Isidro with the traditional Mass and “Huertana” procession from 8pm. Bingo takes place at 9.30pm and group Los Luisos perform at 10.30pm.Also a highlight
among neighbours, associations and districts will be a large paella tasting on
Sunday 17 at 2.30pm and musical bingo at 10.30pm
