For the diary Samaritan's in Spain have a Summer Fayre at their Punta Marina  Centre on Saturday 6th June from 10am to 6pm. Sunshine F.M will be entertaining all day with surprise live performers. The fun day will include a fashion show, tombola, cake stall, Indian head massages and much more. Come along with all the family!

Other forthcoming events include restaurants The Vestry (Algorfa) and The Cloisters (San Miguel) hosting Ladies Day at Ascot lunches simultaneously on 18th June.  Gentleman are also welcome.Proceeds go to support the work of the Samaritans.

In July the Samaritans will be raising awareness and support for youth issues and are grateful to local rock band "Snowblind" and the Lansdowne at Playa Flamenca for their generous help with an event there 31st July. More details to be announced!

LIVE FOOTBALL/CONCERT - 6 JUNE

Join Cafe Buenavista, El Alamillo, Pto de Mazarron on 6 June to watch the final football match of the Championship, Barcelona vs Juventus at 8.45pm, There will then follow a performance from the English Group, The Geckos at 10.30pm

NIGHT HIKE - MAZARRÓN 30 MAY

El Club de Senderismo Amigos de la Naturaleza in collaboration with the City of Mazarrón has organized for Saturday May 30 a new night hiking route. Those who register will travel a total of 12 kilometers by the landscapes of Cabo Tiñoso and Castillitos. Described as of medium-high difficulty, you will have an estimated 4 hours hike. The meeting points are La Aceña in Mazarrón, at 7.45pm and Playa del Alamillo in Puerto de Mazarrón at 8pm. Participants need to travel to these places in their own car and leave for the starting point of the route indicated by the monitors.

The cost for non-federated members is 3€ with accident insurance and liability. The last day of registration is Thursday, May 28th. More information on the web www.amigosdelanaturaleza-mazarron.blogspot.com. 

CHILDRENS EXHIBITION - MAZARRÓN

The XVIII Conference on Road Safety Education organized by the Local Police of Mazarrón in collaboration with educational institutions and the City of Mazarrón have its artistic expression on display in the the Cultural Centre in Mazarrón until 8 June

The exhibition includes 45 drawings, collages and models, submitted by 136 children over 5 years old . 223 students in 1^st and 2^nd Primary submitted 35 works, and 187 from 5^th and 6^th grade students. In total, 115 works were submitted this year from 546 students.

During the first half of June the closing ceremony of the XVIII Conference on Road Safety Education will take place.

June 21^st Guided Tour exclusively to visit Mazarrón Mines. Departure 10am

AUTOMOBILE ASCENT EVENT - 16 MAY IN MAZARRÓN AREA

On Saturday May 16 Mazarrón returns to host a new edition of the Automobile Ascent of Mazarrón Bay. Again the most renowned riders will not miss this appointment in the Regional and National scene.

As stated at a press conference Deputy Chairman of the Automobile Federation of Murcia, Daniel Lopez, about riders will participate in this new event in Mazarrón Bay. A competition that stands out for the variety of vehicles and participants.

The Mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Garcia, presented with Daniel Lopez this event and encouraged all residents and visitors of Mazarrón to come and enjoy this unique day.

At 8:30am all participants will meet at the Plaza Bucaneros de Puerto de Mazarrón (Playa Grande). Around 12:30pm going along the RM332 cutting the road at the Valdelentisco desalination plant.

The road will be closed until about 7.30pm and the awards ceremony will take place in the Plaza Bucaneros at 9pm

Both tests are organized by Automobile Club of Totana and Despo Events and have the cooperation of the City of Mazarrón and the Automobile Federation of the Region of Murcia.

SAN ISIDRO FIESTA - MAY 2014

The neighbours of San Isidro of Mazarrón are celebrating their Patron Saint. Friday 8^th saw the “Gran Traca” start the festivities that gather hundreds of people every day who decide to enjoy with family and friends the large number of scheduled activities that the Festival Committee in collaboration with the City of Mazarrón organise.

The Mayor, Francisco Garcia, attended the Friday opening of the festivities leading the group of officers during the parade initiated by the Band of Drums and Bugles of the Parish of San José. Then came the tribute to the neighbour Luisa Menchón who was chosen by the Mayor, Francisco Garcia, for recognizing her involvement and dedication to the neighbourhood parties. Friday night was celebrated by dancing. Saturday highlighted the traditional masquerade and Sunday was a fashion show by the various businesses in the area. On Monday it was the turn for the popular Migas competition once again to generate a convivial evening. Musical performances, bingo, pet contests and plays completed the programme of events of these past days.

Friday 15^th is the day of the Patron Saint San Isidro with the traditional Mass and “Huertana” procession from 8pm. Bingo takes place at 9.30pm and group Los Luisos perform at 10.30pm.Also a highlight among neighbours, associations and districts will be a large paella tasting on Sunday 17 at 2.30pm and musical bingo at 10.30pm

PAELLA PARTY COMPETITION!!!

Join in on the 27th of May Wednesday 12.30 at Cañadas del Romero for their first paella party. Talk with your Friends and make a nice group, from 2 to 8 persons, with your own team name, and take part in our paella party.

Prizes are 100€ for the winning team, 75€ for the second and 50€ for the third. THE MONEY OF THE PRIZE GOES TO ONE CHARITY OF YOUR CHOICE.

Inscriptions 7€ per person (including wine beer wáter and the paellas and more food that Oscar will cook). We supply the paella pan, fire and basic ingredients rice, vegetables and chicken. CDA FITNESS OPENS IT´S GYM - 7 MAY

CDA Fitness are excited to announce the opening today of their Gym on Camposol, next to the Petrol Station on Sector B, in what used to be the Gibeller Showroom.

Not only is there a well equipped gym but a separate spinning room and a large open plan studio where the exercise classes take place. 

Not forgetting the relaxation and coffee area, solely for the use of CDA Fitness members.

There are a variety of memberships available, from daily, weekly, monthly and yearly.

The gym is open 9am-2pm and 5pm-8pm Mondays-Fridays and 10am-2pm on Saturday so pop down, have a chat and check out the fantastic facilities.

BLUESAND SOUL CONCERT - 9 MAY, PTO DE MAZARRON

As every year in the month of May since 1977 the International Museum Day is celebrated in order to educate the general public about the role of these institutions in the development of society.

This time the International Council of Museums (ICOM) has chosen the theme "Museums for a Sustainable Society" as the main focus for all activities that occur around this celebration.

For this, the Museo Factoría Romana de Salazones of Puerto de Mazarrón has prepared a programme of activities including a blues and soul Concert by Fernando Rubio and other educational development projects aimed at schoolchildren including "Learning to care for Nature and Heritage "

Saturday May 9, from 21:30 pm, the Museo Factoría Romana de Salazones  will host a concert by guitarist and singer Fernando Rubio. For this event we will be assisted by the winery Casa de la Ermita de Jumilla and food company Palancares Alimentación. 

Thanks to both, a wine tasting accompanied by a snack will be offered.  Fernando Rubio from Cartagena is a renowned musician with a long career that began in the 80s.

 Moreover, on 11, 12, 13 and May 14 sees the activity "Learning to care for Nature and Heritage" for schoolchildren. This educational project with the collaboration of the Departments of Historical Heritage and Environment has two parts: a theoretical developed at school and the other part a walking route in which they will tour the different most representative Heritage spaces in the Municipal.
