EXHIBITION, MAZARRÓN

The Mazarron artist Luis Marino surprised and conquered the audience at the opening of his exhibition ‘Susaña. Paisaje detenido’ which opened on 30 May in the auditorium of the CIME , located onAvda Constitucion. Dozens of relatives and friends attended the opening which was given by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, Director of the People's University (UP), M ª José Ballesta Lopez , and the author himself . The exhibition will be open until July 11, Monday to Friday from 8pm-10pm , on Saturday May 31 and Sunday, June 1 at the same times

A set of 25 photographs, 90x 160 are on show in the exhibition, with Ballesta Lopez explaining that " Luis Marino speaks of a place of Mazarrón, of Susaña , and dates back many years ago to draw a parallel to the evolution of our coastline over the years and the development of intensive tomato crop under plastic greenhouses . " The Director of the UP added that " this work will make its mark in the path of Luis because there is no trick in the pictures, the light is the sun or the simple bulbs " , which surprised those present to find that no photo re-touching had been done and that the works are the result of the genius of this artist from Mazarrón .

Meanwhile, Luis Marino explained that " this exhibition is the result of a project conducted at the University Miguel Hernández of Elche , after completing  a degree in Visual Arts Expertise , where a personal creative project is required for obtaining the degree so I want to thank especially my teachers and mentors, who have squeezed the most out of me. " The Mazarrón artist added, " and what can be more personal than the first memories of my childhood attributed to a mythical Susaña, a territory fraught with legends and archaeological landmarks in which my grandfather had a piece of land where tomatoes were grown ."

Marino said " I tried to get those spaces and those smells in my work , I tried to recreate the erosions of Bolnuevo , the smell of wet sand, salt land and moons”  and ended his speech by thanking the Mayor of Mazarrón for its commitment Culture and praising the efforts of the City to expand the municipal patrimony .

The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, congratulated Luis Marino " for this magnificent and impressive work ," adding that "it is always gratifying the opening of an art show , but the satisfaction is even greater if the exposure is signed by one of our best artists, plus it will be the last I open in this term as Mayor, which makes it even more special. " The Mayor also expressed pride " because the sample is related to our land”.
