Mazarrón FC report: Pozo Estrecho 1 Mazarrón 1
Mazarrón travelled to Pozo Estrecho fresh from their victory last week but this time there was no repeat performance. Such was the dominance of the home team that the corner count was over 20 – 1 in their favour and the Pozo Estrecho keeper spent most of the second half playing sweeper mid way between the half way line and the penalty area. However, despite this Mazarrón came close twice in the last few minutes to snatching a victory but the chances were spurned, on both occasions by substitute Rivero.
The only event of note at either end in the first 20 minutes was when a Pozo Estrecho shot was deflected by a defender and a good save from Jose was needed to keep the score level. After 30 minutes new striker Edin was put through but shot narrowly wide. Then, after 40 minutes Mazarrón took the lead, against the run of play when Diego jnr curled a delightful free kick from all of 30 yards into the top corner of the net.
In the second half, Pozo Estrecho laid siege to the Mazarrón penalty area and a succession of corners finally led to Jose making an excellent save. However, yet another corner led to the equalizing goal when after a number of shots were blocked, a forward managed to scramble the ball home.
Despite a succession of bookings for Mazarrón players, substitute Robert was pulled back when clean through and, although a free kick was awarded, no card was produced. Mazarrón supporters felt that this was no doubt because the offending Pozo Estrecho defender had already been cautioned.
The point gained means that Mazarrón move up to 15th place in the Preferente Autonomica.
Team:
Jose, Borja, Diego, Juan, Alcaraz, Rollon (Abdel), Eloy (Rivero), Chico, Juan Antonio, Diego jnr (Jose Da), Edin (Robert) (Rollon jnr).
Mazarrón’s next game is at home to El Palmar this Sunday, 2nd October, kick off 6 pm. Admission is €5.

September A Big Month For F.A.S.T.!
This month saw many changes to improve the equipment are service available to FAST (First Aid Support Team Camposol) with 16 volunteer responders receiving training to Murcian Standards in Defibrillation and Oxygen Administration all due to the financial support from PALS who funded not only the equipment but also the 3rd party training, all so we at FAST can deliver the best care for Camposol Residents working hand in hand and meeting the goals of PALS " Protection And Life Saving" We and the residents are indebted to them.
The availability of such equipment is a wonderful step forward, where we now have the power to de fibrillate or in lay terms pass and electrical charge through a heart that is in VT as they say in Casualty, where the heart quivers like a jelly and is unable to pump oxygenated blood around the body. The charge stops the quivering and allows the brain to restore the normal rhythm if it is capable of being re started. This combined with oxygen therapy gives a patient a much better chance of a successful recovery. Further Oxygen therapy can aid breathing difficulties such as asthma, strokes, drowning et.c.
To add to this FAST have also purchased 6 Ambu Bags from donated funds which also assist patients with respiratory failure and work in conjunction with the oxygen therapy of stand alone in place of basic mouth to mouth rescue breaths.
All this will be effective from The beginning of October 2011. The important thing is however, that speed is important especially when dealing with Heart Attacks (Cardiac and or Respiratory Arrest) Strokes, Drowning, Electrocution or similar. Remember that for every minute passing the chances of a successful recovery can diminish by 10% every minute, so if anyone thinks that such an event is happening, RING 112 AND THEN RING FAST ...FAST to give the best possible chance of recovery!
The whole system of calling FAST on one single landline number would not be possible without the support from "Compusurf" who provide the landline and full computerised changeover system that links the line to either the 24 hour or 12 hour emergency phone has been provided completely free of charge by Compusurf to enable Camposol Residents to have the most advanced service available on phones carried by volunteers 24/7 365 days per year.
FAST never fail to be amazed at the support given by so many people to help us deliver the best we can to Camposol, PALS, Compusurf and the big providers but there are so many more, from one selfless couple who asked people attending their 20th Wedding Anniversary not to give a present but donate to FAST, so 220€ was spent on Ambu bags and bandages. The family of Mr Micky Rooney who recently passed away asked for no flowers but donations to FAST, another 137€ came our way, The D sector group donated 1150€ an truly magnificent figure to enable further investment and maintenance of equipment. There are many more too including book sales and collecting tins from The Tea Pot that have earned over 500€. Finally we thank Kelly Ensor who has come to our rescue after a long period without further Red Cross training after the election where we had no one to represent us until Kelly made it all happen again. To all we offer our sincere gratitude.
FAST have also now planned a Christmas Fayre at Mariano´s Restaurant on the 29th of October that will open at 11am and continue through to 4pm to minimise queues and pressure found at some previous events and is early enough to get a whole host of Christmas Gifts or all kinds, cards and calendars all under one roof and early enough to catch posting dates to home Countries. All with Christmas music food and carols to get us in the mood for Christmas and with a special guest appearance or our very own Nurse Gladys Emmanuelle a better friend than enema!!
Seriously though Camposol is now a major lead in the services available within an Urbanizacion that we can be proud of and FAST intend to remain a major part of that to ensure
" Camposol is Always A Safer Place For All" thanks to the wonderful committed volunteers and the support from the community.

Mazarrón FC report: FIRST WIN FOR MAZARRON - Mazarron 2 Montecasillas 1
Sunday 18th September 2011
With almost a full squad to choose from Mazarrón, were hopeful of moving away from the foot of the table on Sunday. However, this seemed unlikely after a very poor performance in the first half coupled with the loss of the main striker, Robert, who was injured very early on.
Montecasillas scored after 11 minutes when a mix up between Peru and one of the Mazarrón defenders saw the ball fall to an unmarked forward who scored with ease.
Prior to this the only thing of note was Eloy being asked to remove an earring and surprisingly not being booked! Although Mazarrón did not play at all well in the first period, they did have several shots on target and were refused the first of two blatant penalties.
Fortunately, the second half was a different story, and Mazarrón began to press forward. Several good attempts, including a fierce drive from 20 yards by Jose Da, brought good saves from the excellent Montecasillas keeper. After another penalty appeal was turned down, Mazarrón’s pressure paid off when substitute Rivero powered in a cross shot from way out on the right into the opposite top corner of the net.
Urged on by a larger than average crowd, Mazarrón continued to press forward and Jose Da placed a quick free kick over the defence for Abdel to score the winning goal and cement the first victory of the season.
Man of the Match: Jose Da.
Team : Peru, Alcaraz, Borca, Diego, Juan Andres, Juan Antonio (Diego jnr), Jose Da, Chico, Rollon, (Rollon jnr), Eloy (Abdel), Robert (Rivero).
Mazarrón’s next game, away to Pozo Estrecho, is scheduled for Sunday 25th September. Coach tickets (€7) will be on sale at Thursday’s meeting of Los Amigos de Mazarrón FC at the Trevi Bar, Camposol, 4 pm.

Mazarrón FC report: Muleño 3 - Mazarrón 1
September 11th 2011
With three players still injured and another two regulars away on holiday, it would have been no surprise had Mazarrón really struggled against high flying Muleño. However, on a lovely early evening in Mula the Los Amigos supporters saw a much improved display, and the final score of 3-1 was not a fair reflection on the play. Indeed, Muleno’s third goal came with almost the last kick of the game following a spell of Mazarrón pressure which had the locals pleading for the referee to blow for full time. In the early stages, both teams showed a willingness to attack and Mazarrón could have scored on two occasions when Robert and Chico both missed good chances. However Mazarrón did take the lead around the 20th minute when Eloy ran on to a through ball from Jose Da and chipped the ball over the advancing keeper. He was, however, booked for celebrating the goal with friends in the crowd.
The new look defense played really well for the rest of the half with Peru, in goal for the first time this season, acting as a sweeper on numerous occasions and effectively kicking the ball away rather than using his hands.
However, after going in at half-time with a one goal advantage, Mazarrón failed to switch on at the start of the second half and within a minute Peru was left exposed when a Muleno forward burst into the area. The goalkeeper’s challenge was not legal and he conceded a penalty but, fortunately, he was only booked. The penalty was duly converted and at this stage one or two Mazarrón heads seemed to drop.
Muleño, who were now looking like a team at the top of the table, took the lead after 60 minutes. Several deflections in the box resulted in the ball falling to one of their players who scored despite looking suspiciously offside.
Peru then made several good saves, and following a couple of substitutions, Mazarrón managed to get back into the game. They could well have equalized in a spell which saw several opportunitie from a free kick, the resultant corner and further sustained pressure.
Unfortunately, in the last minute, and with the Muleno goal under siege, the ball broke beyond the Mazarrón defenders and with one of the Muleno forwards advancing on goal, Peru came well outside the area, getting to the ball first only to see it hit the striker and bounce onwards towards the goal. With no defender present he was then able to tap the ball into an empty net. The final score of 3-1 was certainly flattering to Muleno.
This was a much improved display and, had Mazarrón not been so slow out of the blocks at the start of the second half, the result may well have been different. However, on the bright side, Peru seems to have made a difference in goal and one of the two new players, Rivero, could be a good acquisition. Against lesser opposition, Mazarrón should soon be able to pick up points and move away from the foot of the table.
Team:
Peru, Santi, Borja, Rivera, Alcaraz, Rollon (jnr), Jose Da (Diego), Chico (Pesi), Robert, Eloy (Rollon) , Abdel.
Spanish Supermoto Championship
Murcia’s Anthony Ford-Dunn looks for Victory in this weekends Murcian round of the Spanish Supermoto Championship.
After the disappointment of the cancelation of the last round of the Spanish Championship in Pontevedre, Anthony Ford-Dunn made the long journey to Mora d’Ebre in Catalunya to race in the 5th round of the Catalan championship, Two second positions from his two races, with Anthony all over the back of the reigning Spanish champion showed that the recent improvements that the www.supermotoland.com team have made to their Honda CRF450R supermoto bikes is starting to pay off.
The racing was very close with Anthony constantly battling for the lead and the riders jumping side by side in the dirt section of the track before powering their way down the main straightaway into the fast sweeping turns of the Mora d’Ebre circuit. ‘It was a fantastic circuit that I really enjoyed racing on but I just could not make an overtaking move stick, and I was beaten to the line by one tenth of a second’ said an exhausted Anthony after the second of his two races in the gruelling 35 degree heat of Catalunya.
Now the team has a busy week preparing Anthony’s bikes for his most important race of the season as the Spanish Supermoto Championship comes to his home track at Fuente Alamo in Murcia, for the 4th round of the championship this Sunday the 18th September. ‘Fuente Alamo is one of my favourite tracks as it’s a very fast road racing circuit that suits my knee down riding style’ says Anthony, who is going all out for a win at his home track.
Racing starts at 10.30 on Sunday morning at the Fuente Alamo Circuit that is situated next to the Haciendo de Alamo golf resort near to the town of Fuente Alamo in Murcia, Spain.

THE PILGRIMAGE OF THE MIRACLE
THE PILGRIMAGE OF MIRACLE BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 27
A large group of citizens of Mazarrón, met on 31 August at the local Residents Association, Bolnuevo, with the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo and unanimously decided to delay the conclusion of the Pilgrimage Miracle a week, in order to avoid the popular festival coinciding with the polls for the General Election. In an act of commitment to the residents of the municipality, the Mayor, accompanied by First Deputy Mayor, Francisco Garcia and Council of Celebration, Isidro Coy, presented the pros and cons.
The Bolnuevo neighbourhood associations, and representatives of the Confraternity of La Purisima, the Head of Bolnuevo, José Antonio González, and other neighbours who are actively involved in organizing these festivities concluded that delaying the pilgrimage a week does not pose a conflict for the party. On the contrary, dozens of people are flocking from all parts of the region that could attend this celebration, so it was decided to transfer the pilgrimage from 20 to 27 November.
This large festival day will take place the same weekend of the pilgrimage, that is, on Friday 25 and Saturday 26. What does not change is the rise of the Virgin from Bolnuevo to Mazarrón, to be produced, as always, the Sunday before November 17, which this year falls on a Sunday 13.
The 17th day of the Miracle will also continue to be a public holiday in the municipality and, as usual, carry out actions that are tradition. The Immaculate Conception, affectionately called "Virgen del Milagro" by the residents of Bolnuevo, will spend a week at the Shrine of the Immaculate de Mazarrón, something that has never happened before. Both the City Council and neighbourhood associations of Bolnuevo are once again determined to make the festival that gets together hundreds of people every year as successful as previous years.

Camposol News Just In!
There are 2 electricians on Camposol now as work has started on the street lighting. Clearly there is a lot to be done but it is a great start!
Street cleaning on the Commercial Centre and the rest of the urbanisation has now been authorised and will start between 15th and 30th September. This is very welcome news.
As sector A is the first sector to be adopted the re painting of white lines and zebra crossings is to commence shortly.
Sadly the lack of correct permissions has meant that the large planter on sector B has now been demolished however is going to be replaced by pot plants rather than a permanent structure but at least this means that the commercial centre should start to look a bit smarter.
Please note that we have been asked to publish the following statement. "There is no truth in the rumour that any outside tables and chairs are also going to be removed from the Commercial Centre"
Thank you.
More news will be posted on this blog as we receive it.
