NEW SOCIAL CENTRE & FARMERS MARKET ON CAMPOSOL

OSCAR AND ANTONIO ARE EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THE NEW LOCATION OF THEIR SOCIAL CENTRE AND FARMERS MARKET ON CAMPSOL

The new venture will include the first local farm market and Social Centre on Camposol, giving local farmers and family businesses the opportunity to sell their products in a fair trade shop, whilst at the same time integrating European residents to the local area by enjoying many activities
It is not a bar or restaurant but a shop with a conference and tasting área where people who book can join the activities. Activities include cultural trips, Spanish lessons, local history and traditions of Spain and Spanish cookery classes.
The Social Centre is open right now and the farmers market will be open from the end of September where you can find local farm produce like cheese, wine, pottery,honey , spices, handicraft amongst many other things, being sold by those currently unemployed.
 Forthcoming Cultural trips include Torre Pacheco Mines and a visit to Murcia visiting the Cathedral, Casino, University and Santo Domingo Square

LA MAJADA FIESTA - UNTIL SEPTEMBER 8TH

From August 29 to September 8 the Mazarron hamlet of La Majada celebrates its festivities in honour of the Virgin. The programme began on Saturday 29th with the start of the sports competitions and the traditional loud bang from the balcony of the church. Then followed a performance by Los Luisos. During the evening there was musical bingos with a raffle.
Sunday August 30 saw a lunch in El Puente Restaurante followed by more sports tournaments and a Conference on Volunteering, which benefited the Red Cross of Mazarrón.
La Majada parties will run until September 8, the day in which Mass in honour of  La Purísima Concepción and the subsequent procession with the statue of the Patron Saint of this Parish. It will be at 6pm. On Friday September 4th Juan Zamora Lorente officiates the opening speech at a ceremony to be held from 10pm. The opening of the exhibition "Recicla2" by the residents of the hamlet also takes place as well as the “Mr” and “Miss” elections.

The Fiesta concludes with III Dance Festival with participation of the groups El Salitre y De Rosa Playas de Percheles

FIESTA IN GAÑUELAS DISTRICT OF MAZARRÓN

The Mazarrón district of Gañuelas celebrates its festivities in honour of St. Bartolome.
The programme begins on Saturday 22 August with a performance by Los Luisos and selection of this years Queen, and selection of “Mr and Miss Visitors” about 11pm. Then will begin the popular and busy Ibiza Fiesta or "White Party", with foam and entertainment by DJ Ruben Garvi.

Sunday August 23 at 2pm there will be paella for all attendees. In the afternoon, from 7pm, sees a Rociera party and horseback run. At 9.30pm it will be the turn for the performance of the group Sevillanas Group Corinto Vivo, followed by a concert by Al Relente.


Gañuelas neighbours celebrate the feast of its Patron, St. Bartolome, on Monday August 24 with the traditional Mass at 7pm. At night, from 10pm dance school act Juan Antonio and David Andreu close the fiesta.

FIESTA´S AUGUST - MAZARRÓN

As in previous years, the Cofradía de Nuestra Señora del Cisne have organized in collaboration with the City Council a very popular celebration among the Latino population of Mazarrón and surrounding Municipalities. The most important event will take place Saturday August 15 from 7pm with the celebration of Mass in honour of the Virgen del Cisne. This is followed by a procession of the image of the popular "churonita" through the streets of Mazarrón and delivery of wreaths by devotees. At night, on the fairgrounds of Los Rincones musical performances and fireworks will take place after the opening speech

Sunday August 16 at 17:00 hours, will see recreational games for both children and adults. Popular activities include musical chairs and tomato and food binges, amongst others


For its part, the Cultural Association of Canada de Gallego also celebrates their fiesta in Percheles between 14 and 24 August. On Friday 14, at 10.30pm will be a performance by Los Luisos then a disco with DJs from 12.30am. On Saturday August 15, at 10.30pm it will be the turn for the Dance Academy Rosa Playas de Percheles followed by a foam party at 12.30am . The music will continue on Sunday 16 in the morning, at 10:30am with a Zumba show to benefit  Spanish Association Against Cancer.

LANTERNS LIGHT UP PTO DE MAZARRÓN ON 15 AUGUST

For the third year Mazarrón Bahia will be lit, this time by over a thousand lanterns. This is to benefit the charity Caritas and will take place from 11pm on Saturday August 15. This year the number of lanterns being released are between 1000-1200. Throughout the day, two booths that are set up on the promenade will be selling lanterns for the price of 4€ each. The money raised will be donated to Caritas as confirmed at the presentation ceremony by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jimenez, accompanied by Councillor of Social Policy and Celebrations, Laura Sanchez and Patricio Ortiz, respectively.

Concepcion Aparicio, President of Caritas of Puerto de Mazarrón, recalled the importance of this activity as every penny raised will benefit the most disadvantaged. Caritas helps more than 150 families in the Port, offering support to those in extreme poverty and terminally ill patients.


With the objective and responsibility to always ensure safety, this activity is at the mercy of the weather, so it could undergo changes in its organization, as the Mayor said, Alicia Jimenez.
