SKI TRI FOR THE YOUTHS OF MAZARRÓN

The traditional winter tour arrives this year on 28 and 29 March

The Youth Council of the City of Mazarrón again are offering the traditional trip to Sierra Nevada. A journey that invites the youth of Mazarron to ski and includes a two-day ski course and one night accommodation with breakfast in a three star hotel.

The activity includes equipment rental, two days ski pass and accident insurance whilst on the slopes. The cost of the trip is 193€ with a limited number of 30 places.

The departure to Sierra Nevada will be on Saturday March 28 at 4.30am from the bus stop in Puerto de Mazarrón, passing Mazarrón. The return will be on Sunday March 29 at 4.30pm

Children under 18 must provide parental consent and under 14 must be accompanied by a relative.

FEBRUARY CARNIVAL IN MAZARRÓN

The various clubs and bands are preparing their upcoming participation in the carnival of the Municipality. This year, as well as new programming,  is extended one more day, with three shows.

On Friday February 13 at the Municipal Sports Pavilion sees the gala of choice of Muses Carnival in all categories: children, senior and pensioners. On Saturday February 14th is scheduled the Children's Parade. On Sunday 15 the general parade will be held with the participation of local troupes and five visiting troupes, who have obtained prizes in previous years.

As a novelty, this time, the Department of Celebrations prepares a third parade which will take place on Sunday February 22 with the participation of extra visitors. The route is the same as previous years, beginning at Jardín de la Paz and following almost the whole of la Avenida de la Constitución.. Last year about there were around 30 groups present in the general parade. 

The Carnaval de Mazarron has in recent years also taken place in summer with another spectacular parade on the promenade of Puerto de Mazarrón.

CROSS COUNTRY RUN - SUNDAY 25 JANUARY

On Sunday 25 January, about 400 runners participate in an athletic contest that will run along an enviable natural setting. The II Cross Calas de Bolnuevo begins at 10:30 am on the esplanade of the Bolnuevo Gredas. That will be the start and finishing point of a test that will travel 21 kilometers by the coves of Puntabela and Percheles.

The presentation was attended by the President of Club Atlético Bahía de Mazarrón, Antonio Martinez, who confirmed that one euro of each entry will go to the la Asociación Española contra el Cáncer.

Organizers estimate that the finishing time for the front runners will take place around 12:00. The awards ceremony will be held at 13:30 on the esplanade of the Bolnuevo Gredas.

THREE KINGS - PUERTO DE MAZARRÓN AND MAZARRÓN TOWN

THE THREE KINGS TO ARRIVE IN  FISHING BOAT

Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar are already on the way. Their Majesties The Magi from the East are scheduled to arrive in Puerto de Mazarrón around 16:30 hours on Monday 5 January. As is customary and a yearly tradition, they will again arrive by boat.

The three wise men arrive accompanied by their attendees and will begin a ride that will accompany three other floats.

The itinerary of Their Majesties will depart from the fishing harbour, past the Plaza del Mar, continue down Calle Major , Calle Cartagena towards the District of  San Isidro. The ride will end its journey in the Plaza de Abastos. This year Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar deliver their gifts to children in Plaza Toneleros.

Once in Mazarrón, Their Majesties will visit the hospice La Purisima. And from there, around 8pm, the route of the parade will begin on Calle Filomeno Hostench towards Avenida de la Constitución, Calle del Pino and arriving at la Plaza del Ayuntamiento where children will receive their expected gifts..
