M.O.V.E. (Men Of Vision Espana)

M.O.V.E. is exciting, interdenominational, Christian men’s organisation which held it’s first conference in Puerto Mazarron on the Costa Calida four years ago, in 2007.  It is headed by Richard Hewes, who has a holiday home near Mazarron.  Richard is a frequent visitor, and has a great affection for the area and it’s people.  For many years it had been on his heart to see an organisation specifically for Christian men in this beautiful part of Spain.

This year, 2011, the conference will be held on Saturday 12th. March, and our venue has been moved to the Hotel Lo Monte at Pilar De Horadada, just 15 minutes from San Javier airport.  This is part of our declared policy of drawing men from different churches and different areas.

The M.O.V.E. conference is a lively, friendly, fun event with a deep purpose.  Come along and have a good time.  It may change your life.

Independent party in San Javier

Food for thoughts
At 12 noon on Sunday 30th January 2011 the Independent party in San Javier are holding their official campaign launch party for the forthcoming May local elections. They are actively seeking foreign residents who live in San Javier  and Santiago de la Ribera to go along to the event, which will be held in the Centro Cívico, Parque Almansa, and give their opinions and ideas as to what improvements they´d like to see to the area should the party´s main candidate, Arantxa Espeso, become elected as the future mayoress of the municipality.  The Independent Party is made up of local residents and business people who are doing their best to try and bring about positive changes to San Javier, which has suffered more than other local towns in recent years from a deterioration in street cleanliness and road surfaces, vandalism to public and prívate buildings, poor infrastucture, business closures and not least, numerous corruption scandals involving local councillors and constructors.
Free drinks and snacks will be available for those attending this informal event, as will people who can speak both English and Spanish to help ensure that for once residents´ voices will be heard, and hopefully acted upon, by those within the Town Hall departments.
This is your chance for change and help make San Javier and Santiago de la Ribera places that are a pleasure to live in, and bring your friends and family on holiday to, instead of the depressing, run-down, scruffy places they are now.
For more information, please contact Grupo Independiente San Javier via their website www.independientessanjavier.es or call into their office on Calle Calderón de la Barca, 13 San Javier between 6.30 and 8.30pm Mondays to Thursdays.
