PUPPET MAKING WORKSHOP - 16 MARCH



The Department of Culture and Education have organized for the month of March a workshop titled "Build Your Puppet", through which participants will make dolls and puppets with alternative materials and waste. This workshop making these cute toys from recycled materials is free and aims to encourage manual dexterity and creative input through the construction and management of various types of puppets.

This new activity is aimed at families and adults interested in developing and manipulating puppets. Councillor for Education and Culture has explained that "parents can go with their children to this workshop. Thus promoting an activity which, besides educational vision also has a familiar perspective. "The Mayor stressed that "it is best for children aged between 5 and 12 years to fully enjoy the workshop."

The workshop provides a maximum of 20 participants, so you should fill out a registration form that must be submitted to the municipal library "Gómez Jordana" of Mazarrón, or at the Municipal library in the Port. The registration period ends on March 10. The workshop will be held at the Casa de Cultura de Mazarron on Saturday 16 and 23 March, 10am-1pm on both days.

Furthermore, Soria explained, "at the end of the workshop there will be a function with puppets made ​​during the course to which we will invite everybody." The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, has encouraged citizens "to participate in this initiative fun, new, free and, most importantly, an event that we can be shared with the family."

EXHIBITION IN MAZARRON UNTIL 15 MARCH




Universidad Popular de Mazarrón (UPM)  in Mazarrón hosts the exhibition "Argenta", which was inaugurated on 11 February by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, the Director of the UPM, Jose Maria Lopez, and Photographer Francisco Garcia Jorquera, who has provided most of the photographs for this exhibition.

As explained by the Director of the UPM, "this show was created as a tribute to Mazarrón photographers who have allowed us to enjoy graphically the history of the municipality." Nearly 200 photographs between 1900-1999 from Federico Guirao Guirada, Salvador Zamora Fernández, Manuel Rodríguez García, Felipe Rodríguez, Alfonso Mora, Juanita Zamora, Juan Segura y el propio Francisco García Jorquera are being exhibited.



The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, has invited "everyone in Mazarrón to enjoy this magnificent exhibition. Magnificent because it portrays the history of our people, which I consider essential to learn because only then can we, in turn, make known our land, our traditions and our culture. In addition, the exhibition is also charged with emotion that's sure to please both adults and young people. " The exhibition will be open until March 15, Monday through Friday from 10am to 1pm and from 6pm to 10pm.

VALENTINES DINNER/DANCE WITH ACAM, 15 FEBRUARY

ACAM will be celebrating their 2nd AGM this year and tying it in with a Valentines dinner and dance. There will be a public AGM at 5.30pm followed by Dinner and Entertainment from 7pm. 

We will be entertained by Kieran Entertainer and his Robbie Williams Tribute, Phil Rushen DJ and Trudy Anne Compere. 

There will also be a presentation for all volunteers who supported ACAM projects Murcia Dance and Mazarron Festival de Baile throughout 2012.

RETIREES CLUB AND PENSIONERS OF MAZARRÓN WORKSHOP COMMENCES 15 FEBRUARY



RETIREES CLUB AND PENSIONERS OF MAZARRÓN offers its members a new activity.

Next Friday 15th of February they will launch a workshop on "positive thinking, the power of self healing".
This workshop is aimed at positive thinking partners and associates who want to improve their physical health, self-esteem, relationships with others and with oneself through positive thinking techniques.

This workshop will be taught every Friday from 5pm to 6:30pm, and is free for those club members who wish to attend.

At this first meeting, the Board of Pensioners and Retirees Club invites all people struggling with depression, health, loneliness or who want to improve their relationships with others and need to make a change for the better in their lives to attend.
