AD Soho-Medi CF v Mazarron FC

“Mazarron’s game this week is away at AD Soho-Medi CF on Sunday 28th October, kick off 12 noon.

As Soho-Media are in the process of having a new ground constructed, the facilities at the current ground are very limited with little or no seating accommodation and inadequate toilet facilities etc.

To avoid the problems we encountered at the recent away game at Corvera, Los Amigos de Mazarron FC has decided, therefore, not to run a supporters’ coach to this game.

Those diehard supporters who wish to travel by car are asked to meet on the car park opposite Consum supermarket at 10.30 am and we will travel in convoy to the game. Maps will be provided although the ground is easy to find. Supporters are asked to bring their own refreshments and a fold up chair if at all possible.”

FREE WALKING ROUTES ORGANISED

The celebration of the 440 anniversary of the granting of the privilege of Villa enters its final stretch and does so with important activities which will provide a finishing touch to this commemoration. These include the three  “Travesías del Privilegio” that are scheduled by the Department of Culture of the City Council to be held October 21, November 4 and December 2 of this year. These are three hiking trails where you can see parts of the city that are unknown to many neighbours but have great natural wealth and beauty.

The Councillor for Culture has been responsible for breaking down the characteristics of each of the trails. Juan S Calventus explained that "the first route takes us through the entire coastline of Mazarron on October 21 from the beach of Mojon to Parazuelos. It will be a journey of 24 kilometers with medium difficulty over about seven hours. " The second of the routes on Sunday November 4, will travel west, takes about 4 hours over 12 kilometers between the zone of Pastrana and Puerto Muriel".

Finally, on December 2  the route will be about 27 kilometers and runs between Campo Nubla and Mojon beach" taking around eight hours and will climb to the highest peak of the town to El Algarrobo where you can enjoy stunning views.  "Any of the three hikes will be a delight for the senses as we have a very beautiful interior but for many is unknown," said Calventus.

To join any of the three activities you can send an email with the name of the person concerned (age and contact telephone number) to casasconsistoriales@mazarron.es for registration, and where you will receive all the necessary information. All tours are free, but be aware that the 4 November and 2 December hikes are particularly hard and are suited to the more experienced hikers.

The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campill said the purpose of these hikes is to "involve more activity to strengthen our identity of Mazarron, guiding citizens through places of great beauty that is attractive and rewarding to know and discover”.
